United Choir School 25th Anniversary Alumnae Reunion Weekend
United Choir School’s 25th anniversary season culminated in two spectacular concerts on the weekend of June 23-24, 2018.
The UCS Alumnae Reunion Extravaganza Concert took place on the afternoon of Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Yale’s magnificent Woolsey Hall! Current UCS choristers and alumnae of the United Girls’ Choir and Elm City Girls’ Choir gathered in New Haven to reunite, catch up with old friends, and reminisce about cherished choir memories! Repertoire included classic UCS songs as well as a few brand new arrangements and some other exciting surprises!
The Elm City Girls’ Choir Alumnae Reunion Jamboree was a smaller and less formal event featuring primarily alumnae and choristers of ECGC on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Bridgeport. The program included some of ECGC’s “Greatest Hits” from 1993-2018 with spontaneous requests from both performers and audience members, and a rollicking sing-a-long of everybody’s favorite songs from recent years as well as the “good old days”! Members of the Saecula Women’s Choir joined forces with current ECGC choristers and ECGC alumnae of all generations in this nostalgic performance. Choristers and alumnae of UGC who were in attendance were also invited to join in singing a few selections at the end of the program.
