Saecula Women’s Choir (SWC) provides opportunities for alumnae of the Elm City Girls’ Choir and other experienced adult singers from throughout Connecticut to make music together in a challenging yet relaxed atmosphere. The group is dedicated to cultivating leadership, building community, and raising funds to support programs such as the Sisters in Song Scholarship Fund. The ensemble has performed at numerous local venues, including New Haven Friends Meetinghouse, Fair Haven School, Bethesda Lutheran Church, Trinity Lutheran Church in Milford, North Haven Congregational Church, Church of the Good Shepherd in Orange, First Church of Christ in Woodbridge, and St. John’s Episcopal Church in Bridgeport. During the summer of 2016, SWC made its international debut when a group of its members performed as guests of the Elm City Girls’ Choir on a 16-day concert tour of Northeastern China. SWC is open by invitation/audition to sopranos and altos, ages 18 and up. For information about upcoming performances or to inquire about becoming a member, please e-mail scf@saecula.org or visit SWC’s Facebook page.
